Kathy, I loved to read your post.
it is so true.. camp is so different and "multi-functional"!
if I hear the birds in an early morning or thunderstorms at night, it all makes me think of kamaji, and it truly brings smile on my face.
it made, and still makes, a difference in my life.
Thank you for the great time! I hope to be able to come back some day soon!

Enjoy the summer:)

Hi Kathy-
I just wanted to let you know how I enjoyed reading your post. I was the nurse assistant/nurse with you for only two summers but I have thought of you all each and every year and long for all the wonderful memories that I not only experienced, but witnessed others experiencing, whether it be a staffer or camper.
I loved every minute of being at Kamaji - and over the past year or so have been checking out your website every once in awhile. I just read Judy Meisners post and it brought tears to my eyes - especially now that I have a daughter of my own, and though I would hate to be away from her for so long - what a beautiful experience you provide!
I hope this finds you and your family well. The years have gone by so quickly - I have stayed in touch with Bea Carroll through the years and am so thankful for all the friendships I made during those two summers. I am now married and have three children and have always said to my husband that we HAVE to take a summer vacation to the Northwoods of Minnesota!! One of these summers we will and I hope to stop by and pay a visit!
I know you are counting the days down until camp starts and with that come so much preparation - I hope you have a wonderful summer. The memories you facilitate last a lifetime - thank you for mine!
With Love,
Suzanne (Ball) Bernhardt

Camp has always been a place to escape and to be free. I sit at school for 9 long months with the same idea on my mind . . . in just 58 days I will be at camp . . . in just 57 days i will be at camp. When the idea of not going to camp comes to my mind, I freak out. Camp is a place for me to not worry about turning in a paper that is worth half my semester grade . . . or getting an A in Honors Algebra. Because at camp . . . it doesn't matter. Camp is there as a vacation( well for me anyways). I go to camp to get away from the frustrations that a person would get at work or at school. This is one of the many reasons that i absolutely love camp as much as I do.
