Tennis
We like tennis for its long-term recreational value — it’s a game you can play for the rest of your life. Whether you are an experienced player or have never picked up a tennis racquet in your life — you are welcome to join us on Kamaji’s “Kourts”.
As in many of Kamaji’s instructional activity programs, small-sized tennis classes are divided into levels of instruction where campers are placed with others of similar skill level. Progressing through four levels of instruction, Kamaji’s tennis program takes camper from beginner through to advanced tournament play levels. First time players will start off by learning the fundamentals and rules of tennis as well as court positions and racquet handling. More practiced players sharpen their tennis skills as they practice service and volleys through drills and group games. Advanced players, while perfecting their forehand and backhand and improving their ace serves, face off in friendly singles and doubles competition. Kamaji’s courts are open during ‘free period’ for campers who want to put into play skills learned in classes and/or play an impromptu game.
